The builds listed below are git-hash snapshots, published automatically on every push to main.

Linux: install with mise

For a versioned install that upgrades itself, use mise — it installs from the project’s GitHub Releases:

mise use -g github:guettli/sharedinbox@latest
sharedinbox

@latest lags about a day: mise will not install a release younger than 24 hours (minimum_release_age). If it reports “no versions found … matching minimum_release_age”, install the version the error names instead, e.g. mise use -g github:guettli/sharedinbox@2026.9.29.0916.

Upgrade later with mise up github:guettli/sharedinbox (the tool name, not sharedinbox).

Runtime prerequisites on Ubuntu 24.04+ (the bundle needs glibc 2.39 or newer):

sudo apt install libgtk-3-0t64 libsecret-1-0 libgcrypt20 libjsoncpp25 zenity xdg-utils

Debian 13 is not supported yet: it ships libjsoncpp26, while this build links libjsoncpp.so.25. A running keyring (gnome-keyring, KWallet, …) is required for account passwords. See the README for the explicit mise options and for adding an application-menu entry.
